Dave DeMott

David DeMott is the President of Signature Specialty, LP.

Prior to the launch of Signature Specialty Dave assumed the role of President of Gridiron Insurance Underwriters eight years ago, and has grown the specialty insurance program manager an average of 24% per year with several of the largest insurers in the world.

David specializes in all elements of product management including Actuarial, Rating, Forms, Reporting, Modeling and Product Design.

David began his insurance career as an intern at the Florida Department of Insurance in the Actuarial department before joining Bass Underwriters, where he managed a large book of business on the wholesale side for eight years.

David sits on the Florida Surplus Lines Board and serves as Chair of the Legislative Committee. He also serves on the WSIA Legislative Committee (National Surplus Lines Organization).

Born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida, David received his undergraduate degree in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University (FSU) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami.

David continues to support his alma mater by participating in the FSU Risk Management and Insurance Mentoring Program every year. He currently holds the CPCU, AMIM, AU, ARM and ASLI designations and holds active Agent & Surplus Lines Broker licenses in all 50 states.
